After only capturing one point in two matches against the Green Bay Voyageurs in Lawrence, the return trip north held vital importance. With the first-year club potentially standing between the Cranes and a playoff spot, KVFC turned in two stellar performances to come home with four road points.
On Thursday, the home side scored in the 5th minute. The Cranes answered back in the 35th minute with an Alex Durbin goal after an initial header from Lucas Bartlett. In the second half, KVFC went down a man after a red card and had to play the last 40 minutes with 10. In the 95th minute, Lorant Lettner sent Crane fans into hysteria with a one-touch finish off a brilliant pass from Chase Bromstedt. The game ended soon after with a 2-1 Cranes victory.
Saturday's rematch was a well-played affair with both teams having chances but Jamison Yoder and Nicolau Neto were up to the challenge and both finished with clean sheets. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
