The collegiate soccer season hit it's stride in second week of competition. With over 20 KVFC alums on college rosters, it's no surprise we saw a number of standout performances during the last week of August/first week of September. Full statistics for matches before September 1st can be found on our College Tracker page.

Drake University (NCAA DI)
Two Matches, 2-0-0 Record
The Drake University Bulldogs had a massive week with two wins over ranked teams to push their record to 2-1-0. On Monday, '18 alum Lucas Bartlett scored the match-winning goal on a header in the 87th minute to stun the home crowd at #9 Butler. Fellow Crane Nic Jaimes played the full ninety minutes at left back and made a number of key plays to limit the dangerous Butler squad to one goal. The Bulldogs followed their upset up with a 3-1 victory over #20 UIC on Friday. This time, Bartlett led off the scoring with a beautiful half volley during a set piece in the 17th minute. Jaimes again played every second as a key cog in the Drake defense. Drake is back in action on Tuesday, September 4th at UMKC.
"It’s been an incredible week," Bartlett told KVFC. "Obviously we are delighted with the results, especially against two top 25 teams. But more importantly, this week provided two opportunities for us to prove to ourselves that we can compete with anyone we face this year. The team has been fantastic in accepting me as a newcomer."
